"Yekpare" is a storyteller which narrates the 8500 year story of Istanbul. The story embraces symbols from Pagans to Roman Empire, from Byzantine Empire to Latin Empire, and finally from Ottoman Empire to Istanbul at the present day.

Haydarpaşa Train Station, with its brilliant architectural forms, is the building on which the story is projected. The connection between middle east to west has been provided by Istanbul and Haydarpaşa since 1906. In the 50’s it served as a door for millions of internal emigrants who have triggered the chaos in Istanbul's dialectical daily life scenes.The project's conceptual, political and geographical positioning, the location’s depth of field and the fact that the entire show can be watched from Kadıköy coast; make "Yekpare" a dramatic presentation.

The first day of the performance also marks the 47th deathday of Nazım Hikmet Ran, the famous Turkish poet. We started out with a quote from his epic novel, "Human Landscapes from My Country": “At Haydarpaşa Train Station, in the spring of 1941, it is three o’clock. Sun, exhaustion and rush lay on the stairs...”

Kamera Fetişzenliği: Nereye Bakıyorsun Babylon Alaçatı?

Her yere kamera yerlestirdiklerinin farkinda misiniz bilemiyorum. Guvenlik sektoru adi altindaki soygunculuk bu herseyden korkan insanliktan guzel nemalaniyor. Siradan vatandas sistemin sokak kemaralarina "ozel hayata tecavuz" diyerek karsicikadursun, firsati bulunca orayi burayi kamera ile donatmaktan ve gözetlemekten kendini alamiyor. Gordugum tum bu tip kameralara dil cikarip, hareket cekiyorum. Kayitlarini inceleyip tahrik olanlari tahrik etmek icap ediyor...




Sehrin en boş dergilerinden 2'de bir'in editorunun blogunda Illustrator Erkut Terliksiz ile yapilmis bir online-cumartesi-sohbetine denk geldim. Babylon Alacati'dan bir karedeki goruntu Banksy'nin What are You Looking At? isinin gercek hayatta iz bulmus hali gibiydi, hem de ironiyle, tebessüm ettirerek. Arkada bir street-art (illllli-liliyar-üstüre) manzumesi, onunde zavalli palmiyeye monte edilmis bir kamera. Türkiye burasi, hayalleri gercek kilan bir ülke.. Hakikaten Babylon, "Neye bakiyorsunuz orada kamera ile?"

İstemihan Talay'ın kültür bakanı olduğu dönemde kütüphaneci olarak görünerek, oradan kendisine verilen maaşla atölyesine boya, fırça ve tual alan bu kişi, devletin yaptığı bu üç kuruşluk yardımı ne yazık ki İstemihan Talay'dan sonraki dönemlerde kaybetmiş. ve bu olay onu en çok üzen ve kıran olayların başında gelmiştir...

Guinness rekorlar kitabına girmiş, bir sürü ülkede hayranlıkla karşılanmış ve bir çok belgesellere konu olmuş bu değerli insana bu ülkenin verdiği değer.

Neredeyse tüm dünyanın ağzını açarak hayranlıkla izlediği büyük yetenekte bir sanatçın olsun ve sen bırak ona sergiler, geziler vs konularında destek olmayı, ona basit bir maaşı bile çok gör.
